Just You, Me, and Your Sysadmins

about the text

This is a true story. I asked an AI 5,081 questions in 634 threads while a decade ended and my dating life became a spreadsheet. The book is what the archive says happened.

Every line in quotes is real: verbatim, dated, on file. One exception: other people's words get smudged where the exact words would name them. Nobody here says anything they didn't say.

Everyone is renamed, including me. Nobody else asked to be in a book. John Bachman is a pen name; you guessed that part.

Chapters post one at a time and stay posted. Typos get fixed quietly. Anything bigger gets a note on the page, and I don't expect to need one. When it's finished there will be a cleaned-up edition. This site stays up as the original.

That's the whole contract. The rest is the book.
